Part Fire Department, Part Museum. You’ve Got To See The Fire Department in Paris, KY.

Paris, KY is a small town with a huge heart. Its location is nearly perfect if you want to take in the beauty of Central Kentucky. You can be in Lexington, Georgetown, Winchester, Mt. Sterling or Cynthiana within 20 minutes. Bourbon County is home to some the most beautiful scenery you will ever experience. Main Street has been revived and is a vibrant example of small-town America. The courthouse is one of the most majestic in our Commonwealth. There is a beautiful covered bridge, a family-oriented drive-in theater and horse farms galore. Look no further than this year’s Kentucky Derby for proof, as five horses had ties to Bourbon County.

Corbin, Kentucky – Kentucky has produced many musicians and bands that people have loved over time. None on the scale of Southern Rock legends, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Then again, few places have produced a band with the talent and longevity of Skynyrd. One band in particular that Kentucky has produced, is Black Stone Cherry. They’re often described as a modern day Lynyrd Skynyrd, on steroids. They’ve created a sound that’s definitely akin to Skynyrd, but has modern elements that have created a sound undeniably their own.

This Central Kentucky Diamond is a Real Gem!

Spring has sprung and it’s time for the diamonds to shine. The brightest diamond in Central Kentucky happens to belong to the Lexington Legends. Lexington’s Class A Minor League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. This weekend, the Legends played host to the West Virginia Power, Class A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The WV Power have become a natural rival for the Legends, as their fanbases are close enough that they often travel to each other’s stadiums to take in the action. On this weekend though, the teams added a little historical flavor to the mix. With both states having resident’s of both the Hatfield’s & McCoy’s, the families…

The Best Sandwich In Central Kentucky, That You’ve Never Heard Of!

We here at Capture Kentucky are always listening and learning about new and exciting things to do in our Commonwealth. Whether it be food, horses, events, bourbon, brews, music, art, venues or a new museum, we want to be involved.
