Why Is Sundy Best’s Reunion So Important? Let’s Allow A Monday At Austin City Saloon Show You Why.

When a band or artist makes a meteoric rise, it can make or break a band. Which is oftentimes compared to a marriage. If things go sour, say on a tour, you can’t just stomp off and clear your head. You’re in it for the long haul. The show must indeed go on. In that regard, Sundy Best is doing something that’s kinda unprecedented. After becoming one of the hottest acts in all of country music, Nicholas Jamerson and Kris Bentley decided they needed a break. So an indefinite hiatus was announced and that was the perceived end of Sundy Best. Thankfully though, after roughly four years, the stars have…

Rye Davis Drops New Single “King Me”, As He Readies His New Album ‘Cut To Tape’

Rye Davis is a name that some may remember as a really good pitcher for Western Kentucky University. Davis went on to play in the minor leagues as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies. Unfortunately, as is the case with many others, that didn’t work out for Rye like he had hoped. Fortunately for us though, Rye decided to pursue a career in music. His first release, ‘A Story To Tell’, is a definite favorite from 2018. A release that often winds up in my personal playlists. For 2020, Rye has an EP that rolls out on March 27th titled ‘Cut To Tape’. We get our first taste of Rye’s…

Cinder & Smoke Fest Delivers A Community Effort That Felt More Like A Family Reunion Than A Music Festival

If you’re reading this, thank you. Here at Capture Kentucky, building a strong community of like-minded individuals who share their affinity for Kentucky is the core of what we are trying to do. From that simple idea, the Cinder & Smoke Fest was born and I don’t think we could have ever imagined the outpouring of love that took place at Proud Mary BBQ on Sunday. Especially for an event in its first year with a small budget and a free show. For me, it was validation for what we’re doing. I feel that people are seeing the benefits of us all working together and it’s a beautiful thing. My…

Just What We Needed. A Recap Of Our Networking Night At Austin City Saloon.

When I created Capture Kentucky, I had several ideas and paths that I planned on taking. The site was created to showcase anything and everything that we felt made Kentucky cool. We’ve tried our hand at covering different events like NASCAR, Flat Track Motorcycle Racing, World of Outlaws Racing, a Ballet, the Kentucky Music Hall Of Fame, several festivals, MLB and MiLB Baseball, Car Shows, a Motorcycle Club Ride, the WWE, a Fire Station and even Keeneland. We’ve also covered tons of great concerts.

Twenty Ways To Improve The Musical Community And Advance Your Career In Kentucky

Sometimes, the most simple ideas can become one of the most incredible things that you’ve ever been a part of. In this instance, it was a simple idea for a networking night for the Kentucky musical community. On Sunday, my good friend, Austin Brashear, allowed Capture Kentucky to essentially takeover Austin City Saloon. He did so because he believes in not only Capture Kentucky, but the talent that Kentucky currently possesses. As folks began trickling in, it wasn’t before we both realized that we were onto something special. We were greeted by singer/songwriter types, local legends, music professors, rock and rollers, blues men, lovely female voices of all types and…

Sold Out! Dillon Carmichael and Tyler Booth At Austin City Saloon In Lexington

There are times when I do what I do here at Capture Kentucky and I find it difficult to convey just what I want to say. It’s not writer’s block or anything like that, it’s just that some things just have to be experienced to truly understand them. This past Saturday night with Dillon Carmichael and Tyler Booth was one of those moments. Having said that, I want to try and tell a different angle to this story. I want to shine a light on just how special this show could wind up being. Only time will tell us for sure, but I believe we all witnessed a show that…

Capture Kentucky Announces A Music Showcase Featuring Three Rising Stars From Kentucky

Music is an integral part of what we do here at Capture Kentucky. On a personal level, I’ve been involved in music for the last 18 years. I’ve managed a few bands. I’ve designed lots of posters. I’ve booked and promoted sold-out shows. I’ve been a publicist. I’ve been a journalist. I’ve been a concert photographer. Music has afforded me many great opportunities and I am truly forever grateful for that. That’s why this article is an incredible moment for me. I’ve decided to start a series of showcases that shine a light on the amazing talent that’s right here in our great Commonwealth. It’s time that I give back…
