Help Our Veterans At The First Annual Ride For The Heroes In Lexington On May 18th!
Some folks never have the opportunity to have someone come into their life that leaves a huge impact. For Kathy Garrison, that person is Larry McCoy. Larry and Kathy have similar hearts and their work in aiding those in need brought them together. Mr. McCoy works with our veteran’s at the Hope Center in Lexington, Kentucky. A position he has held for many years. Kathy has spent many years helping those that fight the uphill battle of addictions. Their paths crossed and Larry showed Kathy how addiction affects many veterans. This was a moment of clarity for Kathy. Her Father was a veteran, as is her brother, who served in…

Friday’s Forgotten Gems: Kevin Welch
Music is a way of life here at Capture Kentucky. We love, live it and do our best to share it. While doing that, we’re often reminded of great songs, albums and artists that may or may not have had the success that we felt they deserved. It’s a series we’re calling “Friday’s Forgotten Gems!” This week we have a listen to a song from Kevin Welch. Kevin had a decent run in Country music as he charted five songs, released eight albums and has continued to tour, although there are no current dates listed in 2019. Welch’s most successful song at radio was “Till I See You Again“, but…

Friday’s Forgotten Gems: The Blue Ridge Rangers
Music is a way of life here at Capture Kentucky. We love, live it and do our best to share it. While doing that, we’re often reminded of great songs, albums and artists that may or may not have had the success that we felt they deserved. It’s a series we’re calling “Friday’s Forgotten Gems!” In this debut edition, I wanted to pick a song that was personal to me. A song that not a lot of folks may know. I grew up with a Dad that loved music and he always talked about “The Blue Ridge Rangers.” He said that it was the next John Fogerty project after Creedence…

Sold-Out!! Tyler Booth Comes Home To Campton!
Tyler Booth. Where do I begin? I’ve known Tyler’s Dad for years. We worked together back in the ole Stitch Rivet days. So I helped out any way possible when Jay reached out to me. This was in the early days of Capture Kentucky. I helped behind the scenes, in other words, the boring stuff that isn’t important. Lol I heard a few songs Tyler had written and as I do with anyone that is talented, I needed to see if he could pull it off live. Let me just say, that if you saw that November or December of the 2017 model of Tyler Booth, you would not believe…

Black Stone Cherry Electrifies On Their “Carry Me On Down The Road” Tour At Cincinnati’s Bogarts!
It had been 25 years since I’ve been to a show at Bogart’s. The Venue hasn’t changed much but the area around sure has! Changed for the better, best I could tell. I did learn one thing though, soccer fans are hard core! The Cincinnati FC was having a match near Bogart’s, the fans were gathering together for what I was about to find out was a march to the stadium in the pouring rain, most were soaking wet, banging drums while chanting/singing. Hardcore I tell ya! Bowling Green Kentucky’s own The Josephines took the Bogart’s stage first. They describe themselves as “a rag tag group of rock n roll…
