Exclusive Premiere! Lexington’s Sour Cream Drops Their New Single, ‘Hey Holly’

Lexington’s Sour Cream is a band that has held my attention since I first read about them. I’m sure you’re curious where I first heard of them, so follow along for the next couple of paragraphs, you’ll appreciate this one or at least be intrigued by it.

I have known several of the gentlemen in The Kentucky Headhunters for years. Guitarist Greg Martin is truly one of the most genuine, loving and positive individuals that I’ve ever had the pleasure to have met. I respect Greg on many levels, so trusting him when it comes to music, is an absolute no-brainer. (more…)

Exclusive Premiere: Hear Sour Cream’s “Come Again” Before Anyone Else!

We are very proud to be hosting the exclusive premiere of Sour Cream’s new single, “Come Again!”

Lexington’s Sour Cream are one of the younger bands gigging, but they have the genes and abilities that have given them a definite upper hand. That’s why we proudly chose them to play our first Cinder & Smoke Festival last year.

Meet Sour Cream As They Unleash Their Sweet Self-Titled Debut

It’s no secret that Kentucky has become a hotbed for talent over the last couple of years and I want to introduce you to one of the young guns. Meet Sour Cream. If you’ve followed the site, you may remember these guys from our Cinder & Smoke Fest earlier this year. If not, let me fill ya in a bit.

Sour Cream, People Planet and Johnny Conqueroo all have ties the bands above and you can see two of them tonight (11/17) at Al’s Bar in Lexington, as Sour Cream celebrates the release of their debut self-titled album. Somebody Call 911! SIMO and Sour Cream Did Their Best To Burn Down The Burl

Sunday nights are usually my rest night for the week. Sometimes though, the music draws me away from my slumber. On this night, two bands drew me in. With the weather being bi-polar, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the threat of a little of the white stuff wasn’t gonna get in my way of seeing Mr. JD Simo and his band, aptly named SIMO.

First up, let’s talk about some local kids that will absolutely blow your mind. The kids in Sour Cream have music in their bones. As Black Stone Cherry put it, “It’s In My Blood”, that’s definitely the case for these 15-year old kids. A classic power trio, two of these young men are the Grandsons of The Kentucky Headhunters Greg Martin. Sherri McGee’s son, Harlan Cecil wields the ax, while Jon McGee’s son, also named Jon McGee, lays down the beats while Colby Grant holds the groove low and steady on the bass. (more…)
