Celebrate St. Patty’s Day With One Heckuva Soundtrack While Helping Our Community
Join us on Sunday, March 17th as we celebrate the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival on St. Patty’s Day at the brand new Cosmic Charlie’s! From 3pm-8pm some of the best vocalists in our Commonwealth will be performing the songs of Creedence Clearwater Revival. The young guns in Bedford will be holding it down while 25+ artists give their all for a GREAT cause!
All proceeds from this show will go to pay for filing and attorney fees as we create a nonprofit that will help with opportunities and education for our musical family. We have a tentative name for the charity and we will reveal that on Sunday as well.
When I began seeing the true potential of the Kentucky music family, I knew that I wanted to help as much as possible. I feel that Capture Kentucky has helped fill a void in the coverage of our artists, but I also feel that we need more information to help folks as they do their best to make a career out of music.
The music business is two words. Music and Business. One can exist without the other, but neither will last long without the other. So in time, we hope to create seminars where we bring in prominent artist managers, label executives and seasoned professionals in a variety of fields to help the many talented folks put their best foot forward.
Other ideas are guitar and drum clinics, sustainable opportunities like events and showcases. Sort of a bed of belief is what I like to refer to it. We want to see you grow and do our best to help whenever possible.
This isn’t an easy road we’re choosing. It is and will be a major ongoing task, but with the results that we have already seen, the ends will eventually be much greater than the means.
You can enjoy a small recap from our show from last year here.
For this show, we wanted something fun, but also something that everyone likely already knows. So this year we chose the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival and we’ve lined up one heckuva show for you!
Our house band for this event is Bedford. These young men are music students at Morehead University. Their passion for music burns bright and their performances get better every single time I’ve seen them.
When I approached the band for this show, there was absolutely zero hesitation. Their belief in what we’re trying to do here was all that mattered to them. My belief in them was also all that I needed.
You may have seen them at our Cinder & Smoke Fest last year, if not, come see what all the fuss is about. I bet you walk away a fan!
Folks like Laid Back Country Picker, Sean Whiting, Joslyn Hampton and Marty Charters from Joslyn & The Sweet Compression, Josh Mitcham of Jericho Woods, John Clay, Evan Curran from Trippin Roots, Bek Smallwood of Bek & The Starlight Revue, David and Teresa Prince of Luna and the Mountain Jets, Donovan Howard and many more!
In the past, we’ve given folks a chance to perform acoustically to give the band a break. This year, we opted for something more unique. Something that is just as cool and exciting as the show you’ll be watching.
First, let me say that David Prince is a legend. There I said it. He is one my favorite humans. If you don’t think so, you’ll be the lone wall flower at this show. But if you agree, you just found your family!
The intrigue, the cool, the humility, the larger than life persona is caught on camera. “Chico” is a short film documentary that paints the picture of what David and his buddy Laid Back Country Picker are all about.
Producer Zachary Curry will be on hand to give us a screening of “Chico” and we simply can not wait to get this thing going!
If you’d like to join us, tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. So come help us make our community a better place. All it’ll cost ya is a good time.
