The 8th Annual Memorial Ride To Benefit The Thompson-Hood Veteran Center In Wilmore, KY
Recently, I was invited to participate in the 8th Annual Memorial Motorcycle Ride, which was hosted by Second Brigade MC Chapter H, KY. It’s something that I had never been involved with and a great friend, Heather Jent and her Husband Roy, asked me if I’d like to ride along and capture the essence of what the ride was all about. I’m going to be honest, I didn’t know what or how I was going to capture something that I had never experienced, but when a friend invites you, you do it. No questions asked. So, we set off to Don Pedro’s Mexican Restaurant in Lawrenceburg to begin the day.

Tragedy Strikes Our Community. Please Donate If You Are Able.
Recently it has come to our attention that our home community of Paris, lost a young man way too soon. Thomas Lane Minnick lost his life in a tragic boating accident in Bourbon County. He was heavily involved with the Bourbon County Marching Band, for which I was the photographer for several years. Thomas was a two-time State Champion in Class AAA KMEA Marching Band. My son was a member of the Bourbon County Marching Band for six years, so I know the comradery and lifelong friendships that grew from that activity. I ask, as a friend, parent and member of this community, that you please donate if you are…

The Moonshiner’s Ball – Day Two. Does It Get Any Better?
After one of the best days of live music that I’ve personally experienced, I came into day two of The Moonshiner’s Ball with lower expectations. Why? Because the bar was set so high, there was no way day two could top day one. Right? Wrong. Wrong on every level.

The Moonshiner’s Ball, Day One, In All It’s Glory. A Truly Kentucky Tradition.
The day began with a total downpour, which delayed our arrival until a bit after 2 pm. After a beautiful drive through the rolling hills and farms that lined Estill County, we entered the wide open valley that housed the 2017 version of the Moonshiner’s Ball. A festival created by and for the Blind Corn Liquor Pickers. In its fourth year, the festival has a bit of a countrified hippy feel. That’s not a knock, just a description that seemed suitable given all the tie-dye, curls, puppies and lawn chairs. Don’t let that taint your vision though, it’s very child-friendly and family-oriented.

Kentucky’s Own Chris Stapleton Drops New Album, From A Room: Volume 1. See What We Think!
Most Country Superstars hit it big early on in their careers and have a tendency to become a bit of a nostalgia act after about 10 years in the spotlight. Chris Stapleton is different. In fact, his career is as unique as his voice.

Part Fire Department, Part Museum. You’ve Got To See The Fire Department in Paris, KY.
Paris, KY is a small town with a huge heart. Its location is nearly perfect if you want to take in the beauty of Central Kentucky. You can be in Lexington, Georgetown, Winchester, Mt. Sterling or Cynthiana within 20 minutes. Bourbon County is home to some the most beautiful scenery you will ever experience. Main Street has been revived and is a vibrant example of small-town America. The courthouse is one of the most majestic in our Commonwealth. There is a beautiful covered bridge, a family-oriented drive-in theater and horse farms galore. Look no further than this year’s Kentucky Derby for proof, as five horses had ties to Bourbon County.

This Museum In Kentucky Is A Must See!
Renfro Valley, Kentucky – Southeastern Kentucky has a rich musical history. The 144 mile stretch of Route 23 has such a storied history of producing musicians it is actually dubbed the Country Music Highway. So it should come as no surprise that the Kentucky Music Hall Of Fame was placed near the Renfro Valley Entertainment Complex in Mount Vernon. Which sits just off of Interstate 75 in Rockcastle County, roughly twenty miles north of London.
