Eric Bolander has officially released the music video for “Cold Men” — chronicling the Blackjewel Miners protests in Harlan County, Kentucky in response to owed back pay.
This new single, produced by regular Bolander collaborator Duane Lundy (Sturgill Simpson, Ringo Starr) in Lexington, Kentucky, is a natural transition in Bolander’s catalog as a deeply-emotional protest song in an ever-tumultuous world. While it is based in the realities of a specific event, it serves as a cathartic microcosm of the pain so many have felt in the past year.
Lexington’s Eric Bolander releases his album, ‘The Wind’ on March 29th. He will also be playing The Burl on the 29th to celebrate and we’ll be there to enjoy the occasion! If you’d like to join us, you can purchase your tickets here. You can also slide over to our Facebook for a chance to win an autographed copy of ‘The Wind’ and two guest list spots for the show at The Burl on Friday!
We’ll keep this article short and sweet so you can enjoy the album on your own. (more…)
Capture Kentucky was created as a creative outlet for my photography. I wanted the opportunity to try my hand at photographing as many different events and attractions as possible. I simply wanted to grow as an artist myself. I knew that I would eventually end up leaning on music, but what I didn’t know, was just how much Capture Kentucky would mean to everyone else.
On Sunday, August 12th, the musical community came out in full force and drove home just how much the work we do here means. This article has been a huge challenge for me because I want to make sure the community knows that the love they showered me with is truly appreciated.
