Having been a KISS fan since 1977, I’ve probably seen them in concert close to twenty times…and along the way, I’ve gotten a glimpse into the inner workings of the KISS machine. I have seen the original line-up in makeup, and the other various versions of KISS in and out of makeup. One common denominator in all of those versions is that they have always tried to deliver a great show for their fans and Tuesday night at the KFC Yum Center in Louisville, KY was no exception.
KISS descended upon the stage opening with “Detroit Rock City” (no big surprise there) amidst an arsenal of fire and flames. They came out guns a blazing, delivering more pyro than any KISS show up to this tour. The galloping notes of “DRC” start and the mighty KISS Army screams as this two-hour Rock‘N’Roll journey begins. KISS was definitely trying to leave their mark on this “End of The Road World Tour.” (more…)
Shania Twain is a name that needs no introduction. Shania has sold more albums than any other female Country artist in history. Due to a medical issue, she was forced to step away from her musical career back in 2004. Shania took advantage of her time off to raise her son and enjoy their time together while regaining the vocal strength needed to ultimately make her return. Shania did just that as she came back in 2011 for a concert residency in Vegas that ran for about three years. She didn’t release another album until 2017, which came two years after Shania announced her farewell tour back in 2015. Thankfully for us, she changed her mind and we were able to catch her in Louisville.
I’ve had the opportunity, and great privilege, to witness and even cover many of the biggest musical stars in the world. Arguably though, I have never had the opportunity to photograph a more famous female star than the beautiful young lady that you know by the name of Pink.
If you follow this site, the fact that I’m covering a P!nk show may catch you off-guard a bit. While I won’t claim to be a huge pop fan, P!nk is, on a personal level, my favorite pop female voice. She is my biggest guilty pleasure in music. She is such a confident, talented, funny and real star. I am equally drawn to her personality as much as I am her voice. If you can watch the Carpool Karaoke video below and not see all those traits I just listed, we just can’t be friends. Lol (more…)
