A Homecoming Like No Other. Kentuckians Sturgill Simpson And Tyler Childers Return For A Night That Rupp Arena Will Never Forget!
February 28th, 2020. A date that will be looked back upon as historians continue to tell the tales of both Sturgill Simpson and Tyler Childers. Time will determine which artist becomes more legendary, but make no mistakes, both will be Kentucky royalty for the foreseeable future. While both artists have paved their own pathes to success, their names are often synonymous with each other. Is that fair? Only slightly. Sturgill Simpson did help produce both ‘Purgatory’ and ‘Country Squire’, but until this ‘Good Lookin’ Tour’, no one could ever say that these two Kentuckians rode one another’s coattails.

Chris Janson, Ray Fulcher, And CJ Solar At The Appalachian Wireless Arena In Pikeville
Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, children of all ages Degeneration X umm wait, I mean the Appalachian Wireless Arena proudly presents to you Chris Janson, Ray Fulcher and CJ Solar! I apologize, been watching way to many late 90’s wrestling videos on YouTube (but you know you read that in your best wrestling ring announcer voice)! Okay, let me get back on track here. Keeping with the cool things that happen in Kentucky that I mentioned in my last review for Capture Kentucky, Chris Janson along with Ray Fulcher and CJ Solar stopped by the Appalachian Wireless Arena in Pikeville to play some country music for the fine folks…

Luke Combs Brought His Hit Parade To Rupp Arena With Ashley McBryde And Drew Parker
I’ve seen well over 1000 artists, probably closer to 2000 to be honest, but few have grown as quickly as Luke Combs. Combs has completely taken over country music with one of the most unique songwriting styles the genre has ever seen. Combs has a great ability to twist the meanings of his lyrics. He’s blessed with a voice that blends, bends and shapes to whatever he’s singing and in my humble opinion, Luke will be one of the biggest stars that country music has ever seen. Before we get into his set though, let’s discuss Drew Parker and Ashley McBryde’s sets from a chilly Valentine’s night. Drew Parker was…

There’s No Place Like Home. Tyler Booth Came Home To Celebrate His Recent Signing To Sony Music
Capture Kentucky has been honored to be a small part of the Kentucky music family for nearly three years. We’ve witnessed so many great moments and seen several artists outgrow the confines of our Commonwealth. The Mountain Arts Center has become a rite of passage for artists as they climb the ranks, so on Saturday it was time for Tyler’s journey. That room has hosted several great Kentucky artists and on Saturday night in Prestonsburg, everyone in attendance became a part of history as Tyler Booth came home for a show at the Mountain Arts Center. What I just stated, may seem like an exaggeration, so ultimately we need to…

Five Finger Death Punch, Three Day Grace, Bad Wolves and Fire From The Gods descended upon Lexington, Kentucky’s Rupp Arena with one of 2019’s hottest hard rock tours. The Austin,Texas-based opener Fire from the Gods kicked off the night with a strong set and got the crowd going. Not a stranger to the area, they performed here in 2018 with Sevendust at Manchester Music Hall and they made an appearance at Louisville’s Louder Than Life Festival.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra Rocks Rupp For The 21st Time!
As you walked into the fog-filled arena with the large hourglasses lighting up the stage, you knew you were in for a very special show. December 5th, 2019 was Trans Siberian Orchestra’s 21st performance in Lexington KY. Over 10,000 people showed up to enjoy “Christmas Eve and Other Stories.” The show began at an “Old City Bar.” Not what you would expect for a Christmas performance, but audience members were quickly transported through numerous tales of Christmas and Hope. Just like the hope provided to the Kentucky Children’s Hospital with the $7,765.00 donated by TSO.

Josh Brown & The Hard Livin’ Legends Brought “Thunder and Lightning”, Charlie Woods and Deep Hollow, And Brock Thompson To The Paramount Arts Center in Ashland
They say that Friday nights are made for fighting, but on this Friday night, there were 3 bands playing at The Paramount in Ashland, KY for all to enjoy. Josh Brown & The Hard Livin’ Legends were celebrating the release of their brand new album, “Thunder And Lightning”. The perfect title for an album full of songs about the storms of life. First up, was Brock Thompson! He started off strong with his own tunes, but when he threw in a few cover songs, like ‘Feathered Indians’ by Tyler Childers and then ‘Rodeo’ by Garth Brooks, that’s when the crowd was ready to part. Brock even gave us a listen…

Ringing In The New Year At Home With Tyler Childers At The Appalachian Wireless Arena In Pikeville
Okay, be honest, Pikeville Kentucky is not the first place that comes to mind when thinking about New Years Eve festivities. That thought belongs to a city square in a metropolis up north that has a population larger than the entire state of Kentucky. A party made famous by Dick Clark and carried on today by Ryan Seacrest and a host of other celebrities, but today on New Years Eve 2019 THE party is in Pikeville Kentucky! Because this New Years Eve here in Pikeville, Tyler Childers has gathered family and friends for the third and final sold-out party at the Appalachian Wireless Arena. He had fellow Kentuckian Darrell Scott…

EPIC!! The Knight Pikeville Got Shook By Tyler Childers
After a successful show on Friday night, the time had come for me to cover the second night of the Pikeville trifecta. On a personal level, this show was the show that I wanted to see the most. Why? Because Chris Knight is a Kentucky legend that I have never had the opportunity to see live, let alone photograph. Then you add in the firecracker that is Sarah Shook and the Disarmers, and that is one helluva way to enjoy your Saturday night.
