EXCLUSIVE: Colter Wall Destroys The Burl With A Little Help From Coby Langham

Colter Wall, a unique name, tied to an even more unique voice. Him and his good friend, Tyler Childers, are on a mission to save Country Music. Some say these two are the equivalent to a modern day Waylon and Willie, and you’ll get no argument from me.

The two sold-out Colter shows at The Burl (Capacity of 300) are a great indication of just quickly Colter’s star is rising. There is zero doubt that next time he’s in town, it will be in a much bigger venue, and deservedly so. (more…)

Just What We Needed. A Recap Of Our Networking Night At Austin City Saloon.

When I created Capture Kentucky, I had several ideas and paths that I planned on taking. The site was created to showcase anything and everything that we felt made Kentucky cool. We’ve tried our hand at covering different events like NASCAR, Flat Track Motorcycle Racing, World of Outlaws Racing, a Ballet, the Kentucky Music Hall Of Fame, several festivals, MLB and MiLB Baseball, Car Shows, a Motorcycle Club Ride, the WWE, a Fire Station and even Keeneland. Day One From The Master Musicians Festival in Somerset, KY

Somerset, Kentucky was definitely the place to be on the first full weekend of July! The 24th edition of the Master Musicians Festival was about to get started and I was about shoot my first festival. How cool is that? Here’s to hoping that I don’t let ya down! Haha

Things got started early on Friday and thankfully Mother Nature didn’t throw anything terribly bad at the festival crowd, other than some Summer heat. I mean, it is July in south central Kentucky after all! Ya had to at least expect a need for sunscreen. (more…)

Master Musicians Fest Announces Lineup For Its 24th Annual Event in Somerset

Somerset, Kentucky – Festival community stars Dawes, an Americana folk-rock band recently featured on the main stage at Bonnaroo and two sold-out shows at the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, will headline the 24th Master Musicians Festival July 7-8, 2017, at Somerset Community College’s Festival Field. The two-day event is presented by Don Marshall Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

Dawes will be followed on Saturday night by MMF’s most requested band, Blackberry Smoke, a southern/country rock band from Atlanta, Georgia, whose 2016 album, “Like an Arrow,” landed at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Country and Americana/Folk charts. Blackberry Smoke has toured with country and rock greats such as the Zac Brown Band, Eric Church, ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd. (more…)
