This Central Kentucky Diamond is a Real Gem!

Spring has sprung and it’s time for the diamonds to shine. The brightest diamond in Central Kentucky happens to belong to the Lexington Legends. Lexington’s Class A Minor League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. This weekend, the Legends played host to the West Virginia Power, Class A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The WV Power have become a natural rival for the Legends, as their fanbases are close enough that they often travel to each other’s stadiums to take in the action. The Best Sandwich In Central Kentucky, That You’ve Never Heard Of!

We here at Capture Kentucky are always listening and learning about new and exciting things to do in our Commonwealth. Whether it be food, horses, events, bourbon, brews, music, art, venues or a new museum, we want to be involved. So when a friend recommended a newer restaurant, that grew from a food truck, we were not only intrigued, we were on a mission.

We were told about J Render’s, which opened in May of 2016. J Render’s Southern Table and Bar, located at 3191 Beaumont Center Circle in Lexington, KY has a variety of dishes that will make you feel right at home. Well, if you’re from the south at least. J Render’s serves up a Texas-style BBQ, which has a vinegar-based sauce. The red sauce is used primarily on the brisket, pork and even the Purnell’s KY Proud Smoked Sausage. The sauce comes in a couple of different tastes. While the Alabama-style white sauce is used mainly on the chicken. The menu has items such as appetizers, salads, smoked brisket, smoked pork, smoked chicken, smoked sausage, BBQ sandwiches, meatloaf, buttermilk (more…)

Irap Brings Home The Win In The Toyota Bluegrass Stakes At Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, KY!

Congratulations to Irap for the big upset win at Keeneland in the Toyota Bluegrass Stakes! The colt broke his maiden at the Toyota Bluegrass Stakes and became the first horse to do so in history. The win also earned him a cool 100 points and punched his ticket to (more…)

General George Patton Museum of Leadership at Fort Knox, KY

If you’re looking for something inspiring to do in Kentucky, look no further than the General George Patton Museum. Located on the military base at Fort Knox, the museum features many artifacts from the life of General Patton. Exhibits include many different and eclectic items. Ranging from some of his childhood toys to his famed silver pistols.

Baseball returns to Lexington on April 13th! Check out these photos to get pumped for this season with the Legends.

The Lexington Legends host their home opener on Thursday, April 13th. The West Virginia Power roll into town for a four-game series, before the Greenville Drive close out the seven-game homestand. If you enjoy the outdoors, baseball, hot dogs and maybe even a frosty beverage or two, it’s Kentucky Ale’s Thirsty Thursday. You can enjoy $1 beers and $1 Pepsi products all night long. Highlights From The Final Carl Casper Auto Show In Louisville, KY

The Carl Casper Custom Auto Show has been a tradition in Louisville, KY. In fact, this year’s edition was their 55th anniversary. The format was always the same. If it’s custom, cool, famous or beautiful…it’s welcome. And let me just say, they came in droves. This show was PACKED full of some of the most beautiful vehicles that my eyes have ever seen.

This year the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center held the final gigantic show. With an eclectic array of cars covered most of the Expo Center, as well as hosting the Low Rider Hopping Nationals inside of Freedom Hall.
