A Spectacle Like No Other! The Louisville Jack’O’Lantern Spectacular At Iroqouis Park.

What’s better than a brisk walk on a cool Autumn night? A slow walk through Iroquois Park in Louisville where over 5,000 pumpkins are carved and displayed for your viewing pleasure. That’s what. Don’t believe me? Follow me!

Now in it’s sixth year, The Jack’O’Lantern Spectacular is an absolute must-see. Why? That’s the only way that you’ll believe it and that’s why I’m writing this article. I want you to see with your own eyes, why you should make the trip.

The path is littered with thousands of carved pumkpins, but it is so much more than that. There are many pumpkins carved with more precision than most folks can even begin to paint, let alone carve into a pumpkin. There are themed sections, wild props, lots of lasers, fog machines, lights in the trees, MASSIVE pumpkins and it is all as glorious as it sounds.

Here at Capture Kentucky we take great pride in showcasing the amazing talents in our Commonwealth and the Jack’O’Lantern Spectacular allows local artists to shine. Both literally and figuratively.

The coolest part of it all? The money goes right back into the community and the parks system. Which funds even more playgrounds for children and green spaces for us all.

Obviously, the music section was my favorite. Willie Nelson, Mick Jagger, Johnny Cash, Bob Marley and Stevie Nicks were awesome!

There are sections dedicated to Fairy Tales, Disney Princesses, Stranger Things, Rock’N’Roll, Super Heroes, Video Games, Stephen King novels and soooooo much more.

The event is held around the Iroquois Amphitheater and follows a trail that loops around behind the Ampitheater.

Jack’O’Lantern Spectacular is located at 1080 Amphitheater Road in Louisville, KY. The event is held rain or shine. Gates will open at dusk (around 7:15 pm) nightly. Closing hours are 11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and Midnight on Friday and Saturdays.

Friday-Saturday: $17 Adults; $15 Seniors, 62+; $14 Children, 3-12 (younger than 3 are free)

Individual tickets to the Louisville Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular may be purchased online, at www.iroquoisamphitheater.com, by phone at (877) 987-6487 or in person at Iroquois Amphitheater Box Office. Box office 9am-4pm M-F and reopens at 6pm nightly (including weekends).

Pro Tips: Go on a weeknight, go early, wear comfortable shoes and extra socks. If you go on the weekends, make sure you like the person you go with, because even if you’re there super early, there will be a line. This is a major event and one that can have a lengthy wait, upwards of two hours as Halloween approaches.
